About Us

Hi! We’re Brianna Nally and Clay Patat, partners in both life and business, and the farmers, florists, and cringey social media posters behind Napa Blooms. The name “Napa” comes from a blend of our last names. We’re hoping for it to be a name our whole family shares one day, but for now, it’s the name we’ve given to this little dream we’re growing together.

Our story started long before the idea for Napa Blooms, we met in 2013 while working together in Charlotte, NC, fell in love fast, and quickly realized we made a pretty great team.

Our first garden was a few houseplants and herbs growing in the window of our Charlotte apartment. When we moved to Chapel Hill in 2018, we finally had room to grow… literally. We welcomed home our first son in 2020 and our second in 2021. After our boys were born, we turned to gardening as a creative outlet and a way to ground ourselves amid the chaos of early parenthood. That led us to building our first “big” garden, eleven 3’x6’ vegetable garden boxes surrounded by seven-foot fencing, which felt huge at the time!

In 2024, Brianna launched a plant start fundraiser at our boys’ preschool, which (to our delight) met the school’s entire annual fundraising goal, and continues to do so. At the same time, she was wrapping up a dual B.S. in Statistics and Mathematics and beginning her work in data analytics.

By early 2025, after realizing corporate life may not be the right long term fit, Brianna decided to start planting seeds and take a leap toward something more meaningful and rooted. She was able to shift from corporate work to a philanthropic data position with a new job offer. And at the same time, the Napa crew shifted from enthusiastic gardeners to “semi-sane” micro-farmers. In June of 2025, Napa Blooms officially opened its roadside flower stand.

Since then, it’s been a blur of blooms, late nights, early mornings, and community love. With two full-time jobs, two little ones, and a flower stand that keeps growing faster than we ever imagined, sleep is rare, but joy is abundant.

Our goal is simple: to grow beauty, share joy, and help our community slow down enough to notice the small, good things that are around us every day. This is just the beginning of our flower field of dreams, and we’re so grateful you’re here with us!
